Cavanders “Ancient Egypt” Cigarette Card #24 “King Embracing a God”. Produced in 1928.
Text on reverse of card reads:
“The tomb of king Oimenepthah near Thebes, is one of the most beautiful in Egypt. The walls are covered with painted and highly-finished sculptures. There are several groups of figures, each representing the king embracing a god, placing his right arm in a loving manner round the gods neck.
Most pagan nations have boasted that they were beloved by their gods; here we see the Egyptians professing to love their gods in return.”
