Cavanders “Ancient Egypt” Cigarette Card #2 “Egyptian Quivers”. Produced in 1928.
Text on reverse of the card reads:
“Egyptian Quivers: A quiver was carried by each bowman slung at his back, except when riding in a chariot. The king generally
carried one under all circumstances, and always had one or two others attached to his chariot.
Quivers were commonly square topped and rounded at the bottom;
but sometimes the cover was model led into the form of a lion’s head. The whole of the exterior was painted in gay patterns.”
