Cavanders “Ancient Egypt” Cigarette Card #15 “Ancient Ostrich Farm”. Produced in 1928.

Text on reverse of card reads:

“On a tomb at Thebes there is a representation of an ostrich establishment, which must be four or five thousand years old.
There is only one ostrich farm now existing in Egypt. This was founded some years ago by Ismail Pasha, but is now owned by a Frenchman. There are about a thousand birds on this farm, which is situated not far from the remains of the ancient city of Heliopolis.”
