“A Thousand Miles up the Nile”

Author and travel writer Amelia Ann Blanford Edwards wrote “A Thousand Miles up the Nile” following a trip to Egypt in the 1870s. This copy is a 2nd Edition from 1888 and is bound in green with the famous cover imagery in gilt design. Edwards went on to found the Egypt Exploration Fund in 1882 which kickstarted British Egyptology as we know it today
