Text on reverse of card reads:

“Susa – the Biblical Shushan – in Persia had a longer continuous life than any other city in the world, having existed from about 4000 B.C. to 650 A.D. Potsherds from the lowest Layers of the mound that now marks its site attest the artistic skill of its earliest inhabitants, and traces of ash show that the city was many times destroyed and rebuilt. At one time the Elamites, as its people were called, dominated all Babylonia, but the city’s greatest renown was when it was the treasure house and winter capital of the Persians; this bit of a famous frieze of glazed bricks is from the palace of Darius, and dates from the 6th cent., B.C.”
